Over the last several weeks my mind has been pondering on how to have my children more engaged in General Conference.  All of my four children are under the age of 10 and this event is not the most exciting thing they could watch on television.  Over the years I have noticed that my children love to watch me draw things.  They are genuinely amazed to watch me create things on paper.  Now I do not think my artistic abilities are anything special.  My talents in this area significantly pale in comparison to other talents I have witnessed.  Nevertheless, my children see their father drawing something, and they think it amazing.

Several of my children sat next to me for significant portions of General Conference as I drew out the notes.  They listened to what I was listening to, and then watched as I translated the spoken comments to simple drawings.  My children observed and learned from this process.  After the sessions were over, we all spoke at length about the topics in conference based on a particular drawing that interested them.  This was a wonderful experience, and one that I plan to continue in the future.

Here is a copy of the drawing that I made for the April 2015 General Conference.

I testify that the words spoken in Conference were true, and that anyone who adopts what was taught into their lives with all their heart, will find peace in this life and eternal life in the world to come.
